Product Coverage and Source Manuals
Choose the exact model when creating a configuration. Similar product names do not imply the same physical inputs, output ratings, screen layout or transfer method. The feature chapters identify the products described by the linked manuals and call out the differences that affect a configuration.
In this guide, the MX 1.2/1.3 logger family means MXS 1.2, MXG 1.2, MXP, MXS 1.3, MXP 1.3, MXG 1.3 and MXT 1.3. MX 1.2/1.3 Strada family means their corresponding Strada models. MXP’s earlier model is named MXP, without a 1.2 suffix. MXS/MXG first-generation models and MXS Strada first generation have separate source manuals.
Choose the Configuration Workflow
Product |
Configuration path and particular features |
|---|---|
PDM32 / PDM08 |
Saved device configuration, including inputs, conditions, power outputs, display and outgoing streams. Follow A Complete PDM32 Configuration Example with the input and output ratings of the selected PDM. |
MX 1.2/1.3 logger family |
Saved device configuration for channels, ECU/CAN2, expansions, calculations, logic, display, alarms and streams. |
MX 1.2/1.3 Strada family |
Saved display configuration with the features described in the Strada guide. Do not infer onboard recording from logger models with similar names. |
MXm / MXq |
Saved configurations with different physical-channel arrangements. The shared manual’s integrated Power Outputs section applies to MXm. |
MXS, MXG, MXS Strada, MXL2, EVO4S, EVO5 |
Saved device configurations. Their earlier manuals show older versions of the editor; use their model-specific channels and electrical connections. |
ECULog / XLog |
Saved logger configuration. Check the EXP connector assignment before adding CAN2 devices or AiM expansions. SmartyCam Stream requires EXP = AiM CAN. External displays are configured in the supported expansion’s panel. |
MXPS / MX2E / MXK10 Gen4 / MXK10 Gen5 |
Dedicated vehicle configurations. Use the kit-specific choices rather than assuming that every ECU setting or factory display function is editable. |
SW4 |
Saved steering-wheel configuration with buttons, rotary switches, paddles, LEDs, display, calculations and streams. See the controls section below. |
Solo 2 DL |
Saved logger configuration plus settings in its connected-device window. The v2 procedure also documents Bluetooth sensors. |
Solo 2 / MX UTV |
Their source manuals configure the principal instrument settings from its keyboard. Use the connected-device window for the PC operations it offers. |
MyChron5/5S/2T / MyChron6/2T / MyChron5 660 |
Principal setup on the instrument; PC-side settings, calibration, tracks and counters in the connected-device window. |
SmartyCam |
A camera configuration defines the data source and video overlay. Model-specific modes, recording settings and transfer methods are described in Camera, Lap Timer and Kart Settings. |
Open products |
Their own configuration when used autonomously, or the supported master configuration when operating on AiM CAN. See CAN Expansions, Keypads and Open Devices. |
CAN expansions and external displays |
Their settings belong to the master configuration. The selected expansion model and serial number identify the physical unit. |
Dedicated Vehicle Configurations
MXPS: the product manual describes a predefined, non-modifiable vehicle ECU stream and predefined status variables, with additional user settings where offered. It documents four dedicated display pages and CAN Output2. Do not apply a generic ECU-replacement procedure to that fixed vehicle connection.
MX2E: use the kit’s road/track, colour and analog/digital layouts and the fields that the selected layout allows to be changed. Its manual describes transmitting the layouts together. A channel’s logging is not determined simply by whether its layout is currently visible.
MXK10 Gen4 and Gen5: their RS3 configuration chapters document expansion settings, shift lights and SmartyCam Stream. The instrument’s keyboard menus also manage vehicle/display settings. Follow the instructions for the correct Kawasaki generation.

Read the Correct Product Edition
The source links below identify the English editions used for this configuration guide. Page references in the feature chapters are physical PDF pages; some older guides place two printed pages on one PDF page. A later edition can move the corresponding section.
The lists of products describe documented feature availability, not a universal feature set for every later hardware or firmware revision. For a newer revision, select the exact device in RS3 and check its current product documentation before reusing electrical limits or a model-specific procedure.
Memory Module and the Strada Logger application note concern storage and download rather than a new set of configuration tabs. Their role is described in CAN Expansions, Keypads and Open Devices.
The older GT 320/350 Steering Wheel guide uses Race Studio 2 and is not a configuration reference for GT32 or GT32 Standalone. The modern GT/GT Standalone expansion controls described here are sourced from the ECULog configuration guide.
