Possible Issues Using Windows 11 - 24H2

Note

Windows 11 (24H2 and later) may prevent RaceStudio 3 from reading or scanning Wi-Fi networks when location access is off. This affects the network list in RaceStudio 3. You can still connect to the device from the Windows Wi-Fi menu, and RaceStudio 3 can use that connection to communicate with the device.

When Windows denies access, the Available Devices window shows a warning beginning Windows does not let RaceStudio 3 read the WiFi networks. at the top of the list. The warning explains that location access is usually the reason and points to the Windows settings. An empty or unchanged list in this situation does not mean that no devices are in range.

Windows may ask you to allow location access when RaceStudio 3 requests Wi-Fi network information.

To restore network scanning and the network list in RaceStudio 3, open Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Location.

Enable Location services, Let apps access your location, and Let desktop apps access your location, as shown below:

Return to Available Devices and press Rescan. The list refreshes when Windows supplies new scan results, and the warning disappears once RaceStudio 3 can read Wi-Fi network information again.
